R.J. Cyr Co.  has extensive in-house capabilities, and the ability to assure
highest quality and fastest turnaround to all provinces, and the US.

Our steel fabrication resources include 25,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space,
a commitment to precision and the region’s most talented union shop professionals. 
We are certified by the Canadian Welding Bureau to Standard W47.1 and have
full-time welding engineers.  In our shop, no job is too big . . . or too small!

Highlights of our steel fabrication capabilities include:

SHEARING

R.J. Cyr Co.  shearing capabilities include a heavy-duty, high-capacity Haco shear.  Hydraulic and numerically-controlled, its capability ranges to steel plate 5/8” X 13’ long.

PRESS BRAKE

Two Press Brakes, manufactured by Pacific and Amada Promecam, have capacities
of 400 and 200 tons respectively; maximum gage, 2”, maximum length 12’.

STRUCTURAL BEAM, ANGLE, BAR AND PIPE ROLLING

R.J. Cyr Co. clients manufacture everything from metal buildings, structural steel fabrications, overhead monorail conveyors, handrails – to break walls.  R.J. Cyr Co. 
uses a Pullmax Z-41 with a capacity of 5" X 5" X ˝" angle channel, beam and flats.

We also operate a 220-ton Beatty Hydraulic Press.

PLASMA OXY-ACETYLENE AND PRODUCTION SAW CUTTING

The system allows stainless steel and up to 1" aluminum.  Maximum cutting
gap 10 x 10, speeds are 5-500-1/2".

For cutting, including flat, rounds, hollows and structural, R.J. Cyr Co.  resources
include a HEMSaw automatic double-column, wide-flange band saw for material
up to 18"X36", with a + or –.005 repeatability on cut length.  Other advanced
fabrication capabilities are possible with our high-speed gantry thermal cutting
system, the Gemini 10.  The system allows processing using conventional oxyfuels,
as well as a Hypertherm HT2000 plasma system for stainless steel and up to
1" aluminum.  Maximum cutting gap 10 x 10, speeds are 5-500-1/2".

For mitering, R.J. Cyr Co.  uses a Hyd-Mech V-Series vertical tilt head saw to
miter up to 45° left or right.  The system is designed for continuous operation
and has cutting capacity up to 30”.

Other machine shop resources include 2 lathes, 1 horizontal mill, 1 vertical mill,
6' radial drill, 100 ton H frame press.

REBUILDING

R.J. Cyr Co. specializes in quality rebuilding of material handling and production
equipment made by all manufacturers.  We are best-known for our decades of
refurbishing Heppenstall handling devices.  The problems are similar: pivot points
are worn, damaged or bent.  Pins and bushings are out of tolerance.  Links, arms
and latches require re-machining or replacement.  Cracks must be identified using
magnaflux, or magnetic particle detection, and repaired where needed.  R.J. Cyr Co.
technicians restore Heppenstall tongs to their original specifications at a fraction
of the cost of new units.
